Coos Bay Is Music City Through July

The 38th annual Oregon Coast Music Festival starts on July 21st and goes through July 30th in Coos Bay, home of the longest running Music Festival on the Oregon Coast. The 15th season of Bay Area Teen Idol, a vocal competition for teenagers that promotes staying drug, tobacco and alcohol free began on July 7th. Bay Area Teen Idol competitions are Thursday’s at the Egyptian Theatre and other venues like the Coos County Fair, Blackberry Arts Festival and Bay Area Fun Festival. Music On the Corner continues in downtown Coos Bay. Each Friday at noon, there will be live music at the corner of South 4th street and Anderson Avenue thanks to the generosity of the Coos Bay Downtown Association and the World Newspaper. The Friends of the Coos Bay Public Library are hosting their annual one-day music sale on Saturday July 22nd from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM in the Myrtle Wood room at the Library. There will be sheet music, CDs, LPs and many things musical.
