2017 It’s All Berry Good Recipe Contest

Get to baking and win the NW Natural, Coos Bay Downtown Association “It’s All Berry Good” Recipe Contest! You could win a $100 Visa card from NW Natural!

Recipes for the first annual Coos Bay Downtown Association, Northwest Natural “It’s All Berry Good” recipe contest must be original and specify the use of the blackberry. There is no restriction on what type of recipe: sauce, dessert, main course, dip, drink, jam, spread, appetizer, snack, etc.  Contestants may enter as many recipes as they wish. One entry per envelope. Each entry must be typewritten or hand printed legible in recipe format. List ingredients in order of use with amount/quantity, followed by step-by-step method of preparation, along with a color picture of the finished product. Contestant name, address/email and phone (include day/evening numbers) are to be included with each recipe submission. Recipes must be received by the CBDA office (320 Central Avenue Ste 410, Coos Bay Oregon) by August 12th, 2017.  There is no age limit, but minors competing must have written permission from their parent/guardian accepting the rules and regulations.

  • Top 20 Semi-Finalists will be selected to present their finished recipe dish during the Farmers Market on August 23 from 10am to 2 pm.  Judging will be at 12:30 where you will need to provide a tasting to the judges.
  • Top two finalists will be notified at the Farmers Market. The two finalists will present their finished dish along with a quick oral presentation of the recipe on Sunday August 27th  1:00pm at the Blackberry Arts Festival Stage area, where the champion will be announced.
  • Basis for judging: best taste/flavor, texture, preparation ease, presentation and creative use of blackberries.

 

All recipes submitted as entries become the property of the Coos Bay Downtown Association, a non-profit 501c(6). By entering the contest, all participants consent to the commercial use of their name, picture, likeness and recipe for advertising and publicity/promotional purposes without further compensation. Top 20 Semi- Finalists must also allow the CBDA use of their recipe, with proper credit, for inclusion in the Souvenir “It’s All Berry Good” Recipe Cookbook.

Prize packages only awarded to those who make the top 20 Semi-Finalists.

In addition, top two finalists receive Blackberry Arts “It’s All Berry Good” 2017 chef apron

In addition, champion will receive “It’s All Berry Good” trophy and bragging rights!
